I completed a 10 mile charity run three days ago. It was my longest run since surgery and I was a little nervous. It was not very hilly, but I would not call it entirely flat either. It went fairly well. The last two miles, I definitely felt tired and my “bad” knee was having some mild discomfort in the back of the knee – but no sharp pains or need to walk. I finished in 1:45 – so the pace was 10:30. This is much slower than I used to run, but I was happy that the pace remained consistent for every mile. After the run, I was stiff, but not in pain. I was achy the next day but was able to run on Tuesday (race day was Sunday) without any problem. I am very happy that it turned out as well as it did. I am trying to figure out now if I would be considered incredibly stupid to run a half marathon in 3 weeks 🙂
